We’re different.

We are a data driven, results focused, positive dog training company that specializes on problem areas such as separation anxiety, dog-to-dog reactivity, other behavioral issues, and skill building obedience.

Like people, dogs are unique individuals and have different needs

Dogs progress at their own speed and what motivates one dog, may not work for yours. Each of our training packages are tailored to you and your dog’s needs. When you work with us, you will be given a personalized treatment plan. As we work on the plan together, we will gather data from your dog and adjust the plan in order to optimize your dog’s progress.

Constantly learning, constantly refining

Our trainers regularly attend conferences and continuously educate themselves in order to be current with the latest science and best-practices in positive dog training.

Using positive methods to achieve positive outcomes

Our positive training methodology allows us to achieve the results we want by focusing on your relationship with your dog using kindness and empathy. As part of our program, our customers and trainers do not use choke, prong, or shock (e-collars) collars.

Serving customers locally and nationally

Although Calm Waters Dog Training is based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, we work with customers locally, regionally, and nationally. All separation anxiety work is done virtually, as having a trainer onsite would skew results. Treatment for other behavior problems can be done online as well. However, we do most of our local work in person. So whether you’re connecting with us from the beach, lake,or home, we have you covered!

When your best friend is experiencing behavior problems, it’s understandable that you may be feeling guilt and anxiety. You don’t have to be alone, we’re here to help
